Tenses for Thais

Nils Bastedo was born in the United States of America but moved to Sweden at the age of two. Primarily raised in Sweden, he learned English both as a native speaker and as a foreign language in school, where he also studied French and Spanish. Before applying for admission to Harvard, Ajarn Nils took the TOEFL (660/677), the TSWE (60+) and the SAT (660/800), placing him in the top percentage of native speakers. At Harvard, he wrote academic papers at the highest level and also continued his studies of French and Spanish, earning a 'Certificat Pratique de Français Commercial et Économique de la Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de Paris. After graduating from Harvard with honors in 1995 and earning a second Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy in Sweden in 2000, Ajarn Nils went on to work as a consultant in Brussels and Boston, negotiating and reviewing contracts in several different languages and making business presentations in English. In 2005, Ajarn Nils moved to Thailand, where he became a certified TEFL teacher and went on to work as an English Instructor at Bumrungrad International Hospital in Bangkok from January 2006 until April 2009, During that time, he not only trained the staff in English and multicultural customer service, but also assisted with English in a wide variety of functions and even created a multi-tiered system of rewarding staff based on their English skills. The reason for the lack of references in this book is that it is an original work built on Ajarn Nils' many years of experience of studying and teaching several languages. Whilst working at Bumrungrad, he did not use standard textbooks but created his own worksheets based on the most immediate needs of his students. This book is the result of his years of experience of teaching tenses to Thais and his conviction that teachers and students of English in Thailand can be helped by his experiences.
