Thus saith the Lord God, behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: and I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Israel, and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall be no more two nations neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms, † any more at all. Ezek. xxxvii. 21, But I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more Ezek. xxxix. 28.

PARALLEL.

*Here the parallel is for a moment changed into a striking contrast, for the Departure from Egypt was abrupt and with haste even at midnight, as we read, Exod. xii. 29. And it came to pass that at Midnight, the Lord smote all the firstborn in all the land of Egypt,....And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he and all his servants....And he called for Moses and Aaron by night and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go and serve the Lord as ye have said....and the Egyptians were urgent upon the people that they might send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We be all dead men; and the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders.

+ But here again, the parallel is resumed, For when they took their journey, The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light, to go by day and night He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people. Exod. xiii.. 21, 22. And the Angel of God which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them: and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them. Exodus xiv. 19.

Therefore, Behold the days come, saith the Lord, that they shall no more say, The Lord liveth which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But The Lord liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country and from all countries whither 1 had driven them and they shall dwell in their own land (that I gave unto their fathers. Jer. xvi. 14.) Jeremiah xxiii. 7, 8. See also Psalm. cvii. 4-8, also xviii. 16.

5.-Cotemporary events connected with Messiah's Second Advent: including THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD, in their bodies being specially raised to immortality, and the living saints being changed to incorruption, simultaneously, at the first signal of Christ's appearing.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. And not only they but ourselves also which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans viii. 22. 19, 23.
