And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my fa vour have I had mercy on thee. Therefore thy gates shall be open continually, they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces (WEALTH is the marginal reading) of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted. Thus saith the Lord, the Labour of Egypt and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come over unto thee, and they shall be thine: they shall come after thee; in chains they shall come over, and they shall fall down unto thee; they shall make supplication unto thee, saying, Surely God is in thee; Isaiah xlv. 14.

Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken. And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants

shall dwell there. And Sharon shall be a fold for flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me.... For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no
