PREFACE. THERE are numerous books of Daily Meditations by eminent authors, but it is hoped that the following may not be considered superfluous. The writer thinks there is not one which has taken, in the way this has done, a few thoughts from each book of the Word of God. They are, as it were, just a few crumbs from the Master's table, to cast upon a world of sin and sorrow: and if but one soul is led to a closer union with the Saviour, or brought into His fold, and God's holy Word more diligently studied, the writer's object will be attained ; and to God be all the glory. |
