43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

50 ¶ And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

43 Us ne leke un ke sámhne kháyá.

44 Aur un se kahá, ki Ye wahi báten hain, ki jab main tumháre sáth thá, tum se kahin, ki zarár hai, ki sab kuchh, jo Músá kí tauret, aur nabíon kí kitáb, aur zabúr men merí bábat likhá hai, púrá ho.

45 Tab un kí samajh khol dí, ki kitábon ko samjhep,

46 Aur un se kahá, ki Yún hí likhá hai, aur Yún hí zarúr thá ki Masih dukh utháwe, aur tísre din murdon men se jí uthe: 47 O Aurshalím se leke sári qaumon men tauba aur gunáhon kí mụáfi kí us ke nám par manádi kí jáe.

48 Aur tum in báton ke gawáh

49 ¶ Aur dekho apne Báp ke wade ko main tum par bhejtá hún: lekin tum jab tak ásmán*

50 I Tab we unhen waháp se bahar Baitainá tak legayá, aur apne háth uṭháke unhen barakatdí.

52 Aur we us ko sijda karke, barí khushi se Aurshalím ko phire :

THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO YOHNA KI ́ INJI ́L.

ST. JOHN.

CHAPTER I.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

6 ¶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

PAHLA BAB.

1 Shura men Kalám thá, aur wuh Kalám Khudá ke sáth thá aur wuh Kalám Ķhudá thá.

2 Wahí shura men Ķhudá ke sáth thá.

3 Sárí chízen us se paidá kí gain; aur paidáish men us biná koí chíz nahin paidá húí.

4 Zindagi us men thí; aur wuh zindagí ádmíon ká unjiyálá thá.

9 Wahí sachchá Unjiyalá thá, jo har ádmí ko, jo dunya men paidá hota hai, unjiyálá karta hai.

12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me : for he was before me.

16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

19 And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent Priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?

20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou

12 Lekin jitne use qabúl karke us ke nám par ímán láye, us ne unhen Khudá ke farzand hone ká darja diyá :

that prophet? And he answer- Paighambar hai? Us ne jawab ed, No. diyá ki, Nahín.

22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

28 These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

30 This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me for he was before me.

31 And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest

22 Tab unhon ne use kahá, ki Tú kaun hai? jis men ham apne bhejnewalon ko jawab dewen. Tú apne haqq men kya kahta hai? 23 Us ne kahá, ki Main wahí hún, jis kí áwáz jangal men pukártí hai, ki Ķhudáwand kí ráh ko durust karo, jaisá Ashaiyá Paighambar ne kahá.

24 Aur we, jo bheje gaye the, so Farísion men se the.

25 Unhon ne us se phir púchhá, ki Agar tú Masih nahín, yá Iliyás nahín, yá wuh Paighambar nahín, phir tú kyán Báptism detá hai?

26 Yahiyá ne jawab men unheņ kahá, ki Main pání se Báptism detá hún: par tum men ek shakhs hai, jise tum nahín jante.

27 Wuh hai wuh, jo mere píchhe átá hai, aur mujh se áge thá, jis kí jútí ká tasma main kholne ke láiq nahín.

28 Baitibrá men Ardan ke pár, jahán Yahiyá Báptism detá thá, ye báten húín.

29 ¶ Dúsre din Yahiyá ne Įsá ko apne pás áte dekhá, aur kahá, ki Dekho, Khudá ká Memná, jo dunyá ke gunáh ko lejátá hai.

30 Yih wahi hai, jis ke haqq men main ne kahá, ki Ek shakhs mere píchhe átá hai, jo mujh se áge hai kyúnki wuh mujh se áge tha.

31 Aur main to use na jántá thá: par is liye main pání se

35 Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

36 And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

38 Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

39 He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day for it was about the tenth hour.

Báptism detá áyá, jis men wuh Isráíl par záhir howe.

35 ¶ Phir dúsre din Yahiyá aur uske shágirdon men se do khaṛe the;

36 Aur sá ko us ne chalte dekhkar kahá, ki Dekho, Khudá ká Memná?

37 We shagird yih bát sunke Isá ke píchhe holiye.

38 Tab sá ne píchhe phirke unhen áte dekhá, aur unhen kahá, ki Tum kise dhúnḍhte ho? Unhon ne use jawáb diyá, ki Ai Rabbí, (yane Ai Ustád,) áp kahán rahte hain?

39 Us ne unhen kahá, ki Chalo, dekho. Unhon ne áke, uske rahne kí jagah dekhí, aur us din us ke sáth rahe; kyúnki daswen ghanțe kí atkal thá.

40 Ek un donon se, jinhon ne Yahiyá ko kahte suná thá, aur sá ke píchhe holiye, Shaman Pitras ká bhái Indriyas thá.
