HE favorable reception accorded by the Eng lish-reading public to The Bremen Lectures, and the consequent demand for a second edition, render it appropriate to say here certain things which in the first edition were omitted. Preliminarily, it may be remarked, that, in this issue, numerous typographical errors appearing in the first have been corrected; also, that a wholly new lecture, one on the Biblical Conception of God, intended to replace the discourse delivered on the same topic by Dr. Fabri, but absent from the first impression, as also from the German collection, has been added.
