6 Now Bwhen they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were B forbidden1 of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,

7 B After B they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but y the Spirity suffered them not. 8 And they passing by h Mysia came down to Troas. 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a iman of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that ẞ the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.

11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis; 12 And from thence to 'Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony 2: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city ẞ by a river side, where yprayer was wont to be madey; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.

14 And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard Us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.

15 And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.

16 And it came to pass, as we went to 3prayer 3, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters P much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto Busß the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

8 And they troubled the people and the rulers of the city, when they heard these things.

9 And when they had taken security of Jason, and of the other, they let them go. 10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12 Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few. 13 But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea, they came thither also, ẞ and stirred up ẞ the people. 14 And then immediately the brethren sent away Paul to go ẞas it were to B the sea: but Silas and Timotheus abode there still.

15 And they that conducted Paul brought him unto Athens: and 'receiving a commandment unto Silas and Timotheus for to come to him with all speed, they departed.

16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city 3 wholly given to idolatry 3.

17 Therefore disputed he in the synagogue with the Jews, and with the devout persons, and in the market daily with them that met with him.

18 Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this

7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples 8 came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. 8 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they ẞ were gathered together.

9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.

10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. 11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.

12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted. 13 And we Bwent before to ẞ ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot.

14 And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene. 15 And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and Starried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus.

16 For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia: for Phe hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost.

26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of 16 all men.

27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. 28 Take heed therefore unto your selves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers3, to feed the church of God ß, which he hath purchased "with y his owny blood.

29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also P of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.

32 And now, B brethren ß, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give y youy an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
