1815 proportion; and His Royal Highness the Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Hajefty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, being defirous, as far as may be in His power, to affift the King of Sardinia, in order to enable His Majefty to make the exertions to carry into execution His engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, etc. etc.; and His Majesty the King of Sardinia has named the Count St. Martin d'Aglié, in order to discufs and fettle the terms on which the faid affiftance fhall be given, who, having communicated to each other their respective full powers, have agreed to the following Articles:

ART. I. His Britannick Majefty engages to pay to His Majesty the King of Sardinia a Subfidy of Eleven Pounds Two Shillings Sterling per man, for the service of the year ending on the first of April 1816, to the number of 15,000 men. This Subfidy fhall be paid in London at the end of each month, by monthly inftalments, to the perfon duly authorized to receive the fame on the part of His Sardinian Majefty, and the first payment is to be made upon the exchange of the ratifications of the prefent Treaty. In cafe peace should be figned between the Allied Powers and France before the expiration of the said year, the Subfidy fhall be paid up to the end of the month in which the Definitive Treaty fhall have been figned: and His Britannick Majefty promises, in addition, to pay to His Majefty the King of Sardinia one month's Subfidy, to cover the expenfes of the return of His Majefty's troops within his own frontier.

ART. II. The Minister of His Sardinian Majefty in London, fhall concert with the Officers to be appointed by His Britannick Majefty, as to the moft convenient mode of transmitting the money for the use of His Majefty the King of Sardinia.

ART. III. His Royal Highnefs the Prince Regent, acting in the Name and on the Behalf of His Majefty the King of Great Britain and Ireland, fhall commisfion an Officer to the Head Quarters of His Sardinian Majefty, in order to repport the military operations, and this Officer fhall be permitted to ascertain that the contingent of His Majefty is kept complete.

ART.

ART. IV. In cafe His Sardinian Majefty fhould 1815 have it in his power to increase His army in the field to the number of 30,000 men, the poffibility of which is ftated in the Third Article of the Treaty of Accesfion of His faid Majefty, figned at Vienna the 9th. of April 1815, His Royal Highness the Prince Regent will take the circumftance into confideration, and will confult upon the means of affifting His Majefty the King of Sardinia to carry this additional exertion into effect.

ART. V. This Treaty fhall be ratified, and the ratifications fhall be exchanged in London as foon as poffible. In faith of which the refpective Plenipotentiaries have figned the fame, and have thereunto affixed the Seals of their Arms.

ing, by a Treaty figned at Vienna on the 13th. May, acceded to the Treaty of General Alliance figned at the fame place on the 25th. of March laft, by the Plenipotentiaries of Great Britain, Auftria, Ruffia, and Pruffia; and having engaged to employ in the field a contingent of 16,000 men, one-tenth of which fhall be cavalry, with artillery in proportion; and His Royal Highness The Prince Regent, acting in the name and on the behalf of His Majefty The King of Great Britain and Ireland, being defirous, as far as may be in His power, to affift His Royal Highnefs The Grand Duke of Baden, in order to enable His Royal Highness to make the exertions to carry into execution His engagements, has named the Duke of Wellington, etc, etc.; and His Royal Highnefs The Grand Duke of Baden has named the General Major Baron de Francken, in order to discuss and fettle the terms on which the said affi ftance fhall be given; who, having communicated to each other their refpective full powers, have agreed to the following Articles:

Son Altesse Royale le Grand-Duc de Baden étant par

un traité figné à Vienne le 13 May accédé au traité d'alliance générale figné à la même place le 25 Mars dernier par les Plénipotentiaires de la Grande - Brétagne, d'Autriche, de Rufie et de Pruffe et s'étant engagée à mettre en campagne un contingent de 16,000 hommes dont un dixième de cavalerie avec l'artillerie en proportion; et S. A. R. le Prince Régent au nom et de la part de S. M. le Roi de la Grande-Bretagne et d'Irlande défirant autant qu'il eft en Son pouvoir d'affifter Son Alteffe Royale le Grand-Duc de Bade afin de mettre S. A. R. en état de faire les efforts nécefaires pour mettre en exécution fes engagemens, a nommé le Duc de Wellington etc. etc. et S. A. R. le Grand-Duc de Bade a nommé le Major - Général Baron de Franken afin de discuter et d'arrêter le mode dans lequel la dite affistance fera fournie: lesquels après s'être communiqué leurs pleinpouvoirs refpectifs ont arrêté les articles fuivans:

ART. I. Sa Majefté Britannique s'engage à payer à Son Alteffe Royale le Grand-Duc de Bade un fubfide de 11 liv. fterling 2 fhelling par homme pour le fervice de l'année finissant le r Avril 1816 au nombre de 16,000 hommes. Ce fubfide fera payé à Londres à la fin de chaque mois dans des termes menfuels à la perfonne duement autorisée à les recevoir de la part de S. A. R. le Grand
