CHAP. VIII.

CHAP. VII.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and woinen,

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 T Now, when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and Job.

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Ghost.

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 And as he journeyed,he came near Damascus ; and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord ? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. It is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

6 And be, trembling and astonished, said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. 7 And the men which journeyed with bim stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no inan: but they led liùm by the hand,and brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without

CHAP. IX.

33 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent

13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.

14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is coinmon or unclean.

15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hati cleansed, that call not thou common. 16 This was done thrice: and the vessel was received up again into heaven.

45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. 46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then auswered Peter,

47 Can any man forbid water that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as wel
