2 For thou hast granted him his heart's desire; and hast not denied him the request of his lips.

3 Thou hast even preceded his wishes with thy bounteous blessings; and hast placed a crown of pure gold upon his head. 4 He asked of thee life; and thou hast granted him a long life.

5 His glory is great in being saved by thee; honour and renown thou hast conferred upon him.

6 Thou hast established him in lasting happiness; and made him to rejoice in thy gracious countenance.

7 Because the king placeth his trust in JEHOVAH, and in the mercy of the most high; his throne shall never be moved.

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies; and thy right-hand shall find out those who hate thee.

9 In the time of thine indignation, thou wilt make them like a fiery furnace: JEHOVAH will destroy them in his displeasure; his fire will consume them :

10 Their offspring thou wilt destroy from the earth; and their posterity from among the children of men.

11 Because

12 Therefore, thou wilt make them a mark to thine arrows; and wilt make ready the strings of thy bow against them.

13 Arise, o JEHOVAH! in thine own might; that we may sing, and praise thy power.

PSALM XXII.

MY GOD! my GOD! why forsakest thou me; and art removed from my cry, and from the words of my complaint?

2 O my GOD! I call in the day-time, but thou answerest not; and in the nightseason, but without relief.

3 Nevertheless, thou art still the HOLYONE; the subject of praise in Israel.

4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted in thee, and thou didst deliver them:

5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered; they trusted in thee, and were not put to shame.

6 But I am treated as a worm, and not a man; the reproach of men, and the derision of the people.

7 All those who see me, laugh at me; they put out their lips, and shake their heads;

9 But, thou art he who took me from the womb; thou wast mine hope while I banged on my mother's breast:

21 Save me from the mouth of the lion; and defend me from the horns of the rhinoceros.

22 Then will I declare thy name among my brethren; thus I will praise thee in the midst of the assembly:

23 "O! praise JEHOVAH, ye who fear him; give glory unto him, all ye family of Jacob; and reverence him, all ye posterity of Israel:

24" For he hath not despised nor disdained the distress of the afflicted; he hath not hidden his countenance from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard him."

25 My praise shall be of thee in the great assembly; I will perform my vows in the presence of those who fear thee. 26 The

26 The needy shall eat, and be satisfied: they who seek JEHOVAH, shall praise him, and their hearts shall be refreshed.

27 All the inhabitants of the land, to its utmost limits, shall repent, and return unto JEHOVAH; all the families of the people shall worship him.

28 For the kingdom is JEHOVAH's; and he ruleth over the people.

29 All the rich of the land shall eat and worship him :

30 And those who are starving shall adore, and be satisfied.

31 Posterity shall serve him; and be reckoned his for generations to come; 32 They shall declare his justice to people who are yet unborn.

PSALM XXIII.

JEHOVAH is my shepherd; therefore I shall never want.

2 He fecdeth me in green pastures : and leadeth me by the side of gentle wa

3 He refresheth me, and guideth me in right paths, for his own name's sake..
