83. The First Parish in Jefferson City reported that divine worship has been held regularly during the year, conducted by their pastor, the Rev. A. Peabody. During the session of the Legislature and courts, the attendance is good; at other times, but few outside their own members attend their services. Their Sunday-school has an average attendance of about thirty pupils, only four of whom belong to New Church families. During the year their pastor has visited and preached in Manton, Maries Co., five times Vienna, at the Court House, once to an audience of fifty. In New Haven, twice to about seventy-five persons. Once in Sedalia, by invitation of the pastor of the Congregationalist Church. Mr. J. E. Bowers is at present on a missionary visit in Minnesota. He has, during the year, preached and lectured quite regularly in towns in the neighborhood of Jefferson City, with encouraging results. Once a month, for the last six months, he has preached

in Medora, twenty miles distant, to attentive and constantly-increasing audi

ences.

84. The German Society of St. Louis reported regular worship every Sunday morning, and a course of nineteen Sunday evening lectures. Their membership is one hundred and three. Baptisms thirty-five, confirmations twelve, marriages seven, deaths two. The Sunday-school has eighty-three pupils and eight teachers. Their pastor, the Rev. C. L. Carriere, has, in ad dition to his regular labors in St. Louis, visited and lectured in both Wellsville, Mo., and Murphysboro', Ill.

85. The First Parish of St. Louis reported seventy-five members, twelve additions during the year, four removals and deaths, four confirmations, ten baptisms; average attendance at the Holy Supper, thirty-seven. During six months of the year, Sunday evening lectures were delivered at their hall, which were generally well attended, and at times the hall was crowded. About a year ago, a Sunday-school under the charge of Mr. A. B. Keith, superintendent, was organized, beginning with three pupils, reaching a maximum, during the winter, of about fifty. There is also an adult class, which meets every Sunday morning, under the charge of Mr. Stuart, which numbers about a dozen, who are engaged in the systematic study of the Doctrines of the Church. Mr. Stuart reported that since the last meeting of the Association he had visited Quincy, Ill., Louisiana, Mo., Murphysboro', Ill., Warrensburg, Mo., Olivet, Kansas, Kirksville, Mo., Davenport, Iowa, and Hematite, Mo., and had preached and lectured wherever an opportunity was afforded.

86. The Rev. Thomas B. King gave an account of his operations in Clarksville and neighborhood. Mr. King was formerly a Methodist minister, but has embraced the Doctrines of the New Church. During the past winter he was received into the New Church by baptism, and since that time he has given to his old friends several lectures on the Doctrines of the New Church. His audiences have numbered from thirty to four hundred.

87. Mr. Carl Muller reported in behalf of the New Church in Boonville, that but little had been done in that place during the past year. Many of the members have moved away, others have seemed to lose their interest, and the meetings have been discontinued. There is need of the visits of a minister there to bring together the scattered elements, and get them once more in working order.

88. The Association went in to the election of officers, and the following were chosen Rev. J. P. Stuart, President; Rev. C. L. Carriere, Secretary; Gustave Morgens, Treasurer. Additional members of the Executive Board Thos. Webster, J. J. Lehnen, C. R. Anderson, J. H. Barnard, R. S. Canby, B. G. Child, C. S. Kauffman, A. B. Keith, Gilbert D. Nourse, G. W. Simpkins, C. W. Spalding, and E. B. Reynolds.

89. The Association appropriated $20 to the General Convention, and instructed the President and Secretary to draw up and present our annual report to that body.

90. To the Executive Board was referred the publication of the Journal, the arrangement of the missionary work, and the appointment of delegates to the General Convention.

91. The Committee of Finance reported, in part, that they had received in the letters, and by collections, $30. The Committee was continued, and instructed to report to the Treasurer.

92. It was voted that the next Annual Convention of the Association be held in St. Louis on the second Friday in May, 1872.

The Association adjourned until to-morrow.

93. Saturday evening was devoted to a conference on Sunday-school matters, with the Rev. Adams Peabody in the chair. A Sunday-school Union was formed in charge of this use with Dr. Peabody, President, and Thomas Webster, Secretary.

Sunday Morning, May 28.

94. Worship was held in the German and in the American Church. At 10 o'clock, in the House of Worship of the German Church, corner of 14th and Howard Streets, Rev. C. L. Carriere preached, and at 11 o'clock, in the New Church Hall, corner of Sixth and St. Charles Street, the Rev. Adams Peabody preached.

95. In the afternoon, at the same place, the Rev. J. P. Stuart gave license to J. J. Lehnen and Thos. B. King, and renewed the licenses of Charles Wieser, Joseph W. Bilbie, Carl Muller, and John E. Bowers, and, assisted by the Rev. C. L. Carriere and the Rev. A. Peabody, administered the Holy supper to about forty communicants.

96. Sunday evening, at the same place, W. S. Thomas, Esq., delivered a lecture on the science of correspondences.

Adjourned to the second Friday in May, 1872.
