Be Glory, as it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.

Upon

Upon Eafter-Day, the great Festival of our Lord and Saviour fefus Chrift's Refurrection from the Dead.

Ανέζησε.

Elcome, great Festival, on which depend All other Points relating to our Friend; I mean, the Articles of Chriftian Faith, Relating to our Saviour Chrift, who faith, Deftroy this Temple ('s Body, he doth mean)

And in three Days, I'll raife it up again.
And fo he did, according to his Word;
He, the Third Day, to Life Himself reftor'd:
Which none but God could ever do; thus
he

Did clearly manifeft his Deity.

And can there ftill be any Infidel?

Alas! they bere abound, tho' none in Hell: * John ii. 19. 21.

But

But there it is too late; the Devils there

Believe and tremble, and the Damned fear
The Divine Wrath and Vengeance that's to

come

At the amazing fearful Day of Doom!

When, Go, ye Curfed, Chrift to them will fay:

But true Believers long for that Great Days When they shall hear pronounc'd that joyful Word,

Ev'n from the Mouth of him their dearest

Lord,

Come ye, who bleffed of my Father are,
Enter the Joys which I for you prepare,
For you, my Saints, who are to me most dear,
Since then, fo different the Cafe will be
Betwixt true Faith, and Infidelity;
Since, Come ye Bleffed, will be faid to one,
And, Go ye Curfed, be the other's Doom;
How does it then concern us to believe,
And this great Article of Faith receive,
That Chrift is ris'n; that we fhall alfo rife,
And come to Judgment at the Great Affize.
Believers,

Believers, as united to their Head,
Muft unavoidably rife from the Dead;
They did in the first Refurrection fhare,
And therefore in the fecond, bleffed are
Thro' Chrift, who bought them with his pre-
cious Blood,

And by his Spirit made them pure and good: They here were ris'n with Chrift, whom they did love,

And earnestly did seek the Things Above:
Not doubting of the Promise of their Lord,
But ftedfaftly depended on his Word,

That he would raise them up at the last Day,
To Life Eternal, as himself did say.*

Chrift the First- Fruits; afterward, they fhall

rife

And fee their Saviour with their longing Eyes.t Chrift's Refurrection proves his Conqueft over Death,

And is an Earnest of our rifing from beneath. As Saints believe that Chrift himself arofe

A glorious Conqueror of all their Foes,

Of

Of Sin, of Hell, of Death, and of the Grave,

So they believe, these fha'nt Dominion have
Over their Souls and Bodies finally,

But that they fhall obtain the Victory,
Thro'their Lord Jefus Chrift; therefore they fing,
O Death! I fear thee not; where is thy Sting?
O Grave! where is thy Victory? O Hell!
Thou Terror only to the Infidel.

Chrift hath the Keys, the Pow'r of Hell and
Death. *

Into whofe Hands, my Spirit I bequeath; And fay, Thanks be to God, who giveth me t Thro' our Lord Jefus Chrift, the Victory.
