Senator Thompson, on leave, introduced Senate bill No. 140, entitled An act to establish an Inebriate Asylum of the State of Missouri. Senator Read offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That whenever the clerk of any committee is unemployed, he shall be subject to the order of the Secretary of the Senate,. and may be required to perform clerical service for any other committee of the Senate.

Senator Thompson moved to amend by inserting "except the clerk of the Judiciary Committee.'
