MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee, to whom was referred Senate bill No. 96, entitled An act to repeal section 47 of chapter 56 of the General Statutes of Missouri, the same being section 47, chapter 10, Wagner's Missouri Statutes, entitled "Of the State Lunatic Asylum."

Also, Senate bill No. 110, entitled An act to authorize a reasonable attorney's fee to be allowed by the court in favor of any person who may recover judgment in any suit, either as plaintiff or defendant, and by or against corporations, beg leave to report that they have considered the same, and find them to be truly engrossed, and that the printed copies thereof furnished to the Senators are correct.

Propositions and motions being the next order of business,

Senator Rubey introduced Senate bill No. 187, entitled An act for submitting constitutional amendments to a vote of the people, and repealing certain acts in relation thereto; which was read the first time.

Senator Rubey introduced Senate bill No. 188, entitled An act to amend chapter 26 of the General Statutes of Missouri, title, “Of the recorder of deeds," by adding thereto five new sections, to be known as sections 31, 32, 33, 34 and 35; which was read the first time.

Senator Rubey introduced Senate bill No. 189, entitled An act suspending the sale of lands for delinquent taxes in the year 1877; which was read the first time.

Senator Young offered the following resolution:

Resolved, That the Committee on Penitentiary are hereby authorized to rent a suitable room for the use of Penitentiary and Insurance Committees.
