meeting and paying the floating debt of the State, occasioned by deficiencies in the revenues for the years 1875 and 1876; which was read the first time.

Senator Morrisson introduced Senate bill No. 260, entitled An act authorizing the Fund Commissioners of the State of Missouri to issue notes on the State Treasurer in lieu of certificates of indebtedness, and to pay certificates now outstanding; which was read the first time.

Senator Morrisson moved that when the Senate adjourn, it adjourn to meet Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock; which was agreed to.

House bill No. 554 was taken up and read the first time. The notice therein of the nature of the bill was read.

Senator Ballingal called up Senate bill No. 179, and pending amendment, the amendment was not agreed to, and the bill ordered engrossed.

On motion of Senator Edwards of St. Charles, the Senate adjourned.

Also, House bill No. 493, entitled An act supplementary to an act entitled an act to repeal an act entitled an act to more fully provide for the organization of counties into municipal townships, and to further provide for the local government thereof, and repealing all former acts. relating thereto, approved March 24, 1873, and also, to repeal all acts amendatory of said act approved March 5, 1877; which was read.

In which the concurrence of the Senate is respectfully requested. Business of the Senate was suspended, and House concurrent resolutions Nos. 17, 21 and 24, and House bill No. 73 were read by the Secretary and signed by the President.
