1 Pet.2.24.

28. Jesus healeth Peter's mother in law, and

many
diseased
persons.

MW.8.
And when Jesus was come into Peter's house,

14 a 1 Cor. 9. he saw his wife's mother laid, and sick of a

fever. And he came and took her by the hand, Mk. 1.
and lifted her up; and immediately the fever 31
left her, and she ministered unto them.

And at even, when the sun did set, they 32
brought unto him all that were diseased, and
them that were possessed with devils. And all 33
the city was gathered together at the door.
And he healed many that were sick of divers 34
diseases, and he cast out the spirits with his M". 8.
word, and healed all that were sick: that it 16, 17

might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias • Is. 53. 4. the prophet, saying, Himself ? took our infir

mities, and bare our sicknesses.

And in the morning, rising up a great while Mk. 1. before day, he went out, and departed into a 35 solitary place, and there prayed. And Simon 36 and they that were with him followed after him. And when they had found him, they said 37 unto him, All men seek for thee. And he said 38

unto them, “Let us go into the next towns, • Is. 61. 1. “ that I may preach there also : for otherefore

came I forth.”

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching M". 4. in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel 23 of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. And his fame went throughout all 24 Syria : and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. And there followed him great multitudes of 25 people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and

from Jerusalem, and from Judæa, and from A. D. 31, beyond Jordan.

29. Jesus cleanseth the leper. L. 5.

And it came to pass, when he was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought him,

saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me Mk. 1. clean. And Jesus, moved with compassion, put

41 forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto
42 him, “I will; be thou clean.” And as soon as

he had spoken, immediately the leprosy de-
43 parted from him, and he was cleansed. And

he straitly charged him, and forthwith sent 44 him away; and saith unto him, “See thou say

nothing to any man: but go thy way, shew

thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleans-
“ing those things * which Moses commanded, Lev. 14.
45“ for a testimony unto them.” But he went 3, 4, 10.

out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze
abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could

no more openly enter into the city, but was L. 5. without in desert places: and great multitudes 15 came together to hear, and to be healed by him

of their infirmities.

of the law sitting by, which were come out of

every town of Galilee, and Judæa, and JeruMk. 2. salem : and straightway many were gathered

2 together, insomuch that there was no room to

receive them, no, not so much as about the L. 5. 17 door: and the power of the Lord was present

18 to heal them. And, behold, men brought in a

bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and

they sought means to bring him in, and to lay 19 him before him. And when they could not find

and let him down through the tiling with his
couch into the midst before Jesus. And when 20
he saw their faith, he said unto him, “ Man,

thy sins are forgiven thee.” And the scribes 21

and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who

perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto
them, “ What reason ye in your hearts? whe- 23

ye may know that the Son of man hath power

upon earth to forgive sins,” (he said unto the
sick of the palsy,) “ I say unto thee, Arise, and
“ take up thy couch, and go unto thine house."
And immediately he rose up before them, and 25
took up that whereon he lay, and departed to
his own house, glorifying God. And they were 26
all amazed, and they glorified God, and were
filled with fear, saying, We have seen : strange
things to day.

Mk. 2.
And he went forth again by the sea side;
and all the multitude resorted unto him, and
he taught them.

And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of 14 Alphæus sitting at the receipt of custom, and said unto him, “ Follow me.” And he left all, L. 5. rose up, and followed him.
