things spake Jesus unto the multitude in paraMk. 4. bles; as they were able to hear it. But without 33, 34 a parable spake he not unto them: and when

they were alone, he expounded all things to his M". 13. disciples: that it might be fulfilled which was

50. Christ stilleth the tempest. MW.8.

Now when Jesus saw great multitudes about A. D. 31. him, he gave commandment to depart unto the 19 other side. And a certain scribe came, and said

unto him, Master, I will follow thee whither-
20 soever thou goest. And Jesus saith unto him,

“The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air
have nests; but the Son of man hath not where
“ to lay his head.”

And another of his disciples said unto him,
Lord, a suffer me first to go and bury my father. See

22 But Jesus said unto him, “ Follow me; and let L. 9. 60 “ the dead bury their dead: but go thou and

“ preach the kingdom of God.”

And another also said, Lord, I will follow See
thee; but let me first go bid them farewell,
62 which are at home at my house. And Jesus

said unto him, “ No man, having put his hand
“ to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the

kingdom of God.”
MW. 8. And when he was entered into a ship, his

23 disciples followed him, and they launched forth. L. 8. 22 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the M". 8. sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with

24 the waves. Mk. 4. And he was in the hinder part of the ship,

38 asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and

say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we 39 perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind,

and said unto the sea, “ Peace, be still.” And

the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 And he said unto them, “Why are ye so fear-
41 “ ful? how is it that ye have no faith?” And

they feared exceedingly, and said one to another,
What manner of man is this, that even the wind
and the sea obey him?
