PRAISE FOR DAILY BENEFITS.

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant. places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

I will praise thee, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth all thy marvellous works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee. I will sing praise to thy name, O thou Most High.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life. In thy presence is fulness of joy. At thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

O, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together.

While I live will I praise the Lord; I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

I will extol thee, my God, O king, and I will bless thy name for ever and ever. Every day will I bless thee, and I will praise thy name for ever and ever.

THANKS FOR RAIN.

Praise waiteth for thee, O God, in Zion, who art the confidence of all the ends of the earth, and of them that are afar off upon the sea.

Who by his strength setteth fast the mountains, being girded with power; who stilleth the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people. They also that dwell in the uttermost parts are afraid at thy tokens; thou makest the outgoings of the morning and evening to rejoice.

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it; thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water. Thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly. Thou settlest the furrows thereof. est it soft with showers.

Thou makThou blessest the

springing thereof. Thou crownest the year with thy goodness, and thy paths drop fatness.

They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness, and the little hills rejoice on every side. The pastures are clothed with flocks. The valleys also are covered over with corn. They shout for joy; they also sing.

IN STORM AND TEMPEST.

The Lord reigneth; let the people tremble. He sitteth between the cherubim; let the earth be moved.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves. The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thundereth; the Lord is upon many waters.

His lightnings enlightened the world; the earth saw and trembled.

The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. The voice of the Lord breaketh the cedars; yea, the Lord breaketh the cedars of Lebanon. The voice of the Lord divideth the flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shaketh the wilderness. The Lord sitteth upon the flood; yea, the Lord sitteth king for ever.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will we not fear though the earth be removed, and though

the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; though the waters thereof roar and be troubled; though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof.

The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.

The Lord reigneth; let the earth rejoice. Clouds and darkness are round about him; righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

THANKFUL PRAISE.

O, give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever.

O, give thanks unto the God of gods; give thanks to the Lord of lords.

[ocr errors]

To him who alone doeth great wonders; To him that by wisdom made the heavens; To him that stretched out the earth above the waters;

To him that made great lights;

The sun to rule by day,

The moon and stars to rule by night;

To him that led his people through the wilderness;

Who remembered us in our low estate;

Who giveth food to all flesh; for his mercy

endureth forever.

O, give thanks unto the God of heaven; for his mercy endureth forever.

JOYFUL WORSHIP.

O, sing unto the Lord a new song; sing unto the Lord, all the earth. Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day.

O, worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness; fear before him, all the earth.

Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth, the world also shall be established, that it shall not be moved. He shall judge the people righteously.

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein; then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord.

For he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
