The author's aim has been, to select, almost exclusively, such of the prophecies as are now SEEN to have been fulfilled; and to present the argument in favour of Revelation in a condensed and convincing form.

The prophecies considered are those concerning

Abraham and his descendants in the line of Isaac and Jacob, and particularly the Jews-Ishmael's descendants, another son of Abraham-The Egyptians, the descendants of Mizraim, the son of Ham, the son of Noah-The Edomites, the descendants of Esau, the brother of the patriarch Jacob-Moab and AmmonPhilistia and Tyre-Nineveh and Babylon - Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ-The destruction of Jerusalem-Also its Temple-its ecclesiastical and civil polity, and the consequent dispersion of the Jewish people-God's " justifying and blessing the heathen," of which we were then a part.
