make me one more instance of pardoning and saving grace, that I may shew forth thy praises in thy earthly temples ; and may go, ere long, to sing thy praises in thy temple above, through a dying and now risen and interceding Saviour. Amen.

Ye hearts with youthful vigour warm,

In şmiling crowds draw near;
And turn'from every mortal charm,

A Saviour's voice to hear.

He, Lord of all the worlds on high,

Stoops to converse with you ;
And lays his radiant glories by,

Your friendship to pursue.

“ The soul that longs to see my face,

“ Is sure my love to gain ;
6 And those that early seek my grace

" Shall never seek in vain.'

What object, Lord, my soul should move,

If once compar'd with thee!
What beauty should command my love,

Like what in Christ I see.

Away, ye false delusive toys,

Vain tempers of the mind !
"I'is here I fix my lasting choice,

For here true bliss I find.

The Child's Prayer to the good Shepherd.

Blessed Jesus, I, a poor weak, tender reature, come to thee : but it was in reard to such weakness that thou hast been leased to speak so graciously. I believe That I have heard, and I mean to venture ay soul upon it. I flee to thee as the ielpless lamb to its shepherd, when hungry, that he may feed it; when pursued by wild beasts, that he may defend it. Lord, open thine arms and thy bosom to me, though I am so inconsiderable a creature; out of the mouths of babes and sucklings thou ordainest praise. Fill my heart with love, and my mouth with thy praise, and lead me on, till I may come to praise thee amongst the holy angels in heaven, and serve thee as they do, for ever. Amen.

A Child's Prayer. O Lord God! I am a poor helpless sinful child, but thou art my heavenly Father, and I hope, through Christ Jesus, my reconciled God and Father. I now come to thee, and I am grieved and sorry to think that I have ever left thee. I have gonel astray from thee like a lost sheep, but I now come to thee. Accept me as thy child ; take me, O Father, into the arms of thy mercy, and may thy beloved Son, who took children in his arms, take me in the arms of his love and bless me. Let his Spirit renew my sinful nature, create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me; take away the stone and give me a soft, a tender heart; a heart to mourn for sin, and to be afraid of offending thee; a heart to love thee and to love all thy children. Deliver me from all the snares of the devil, from sinful com pany, from a lying tongue, and from my own wilful and obstinate temper. Be thou a Father to me in the dearest sense to teach me, to guide me, to provide for me. Teach me to love thee, to pray to thee, and to serve thee here; and prepare me te dwell with thee for ever in thy heavenly kingdom, for Jesus' sake. Amen.

Child's Prayer.
