Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Matt. iii. 2.)

I will arise and go to my Father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. (St. Luke xv. 18, 19.)

Enter not into judgment with thy servant, O LORD; for in thy sight shall no man living be justified. (Ps. cxliii. 2.)

I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house of the Lord. (Ps. cxxii. 1.)

The hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a spirit, and they who worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth. (Matt. iv. 23, 24.)

EARLY beloved brethren, We know that the infinite God is not worshipped with men's hands as though he needed anything, seeing that he giveth to all life and breath and all things; neither can our prayer be without his help. We come to him, because our hearts seek the source of the love that fills them, our souls turn to the light that shines upon them. And now that we have assembled together as brethren, earnestly desiring to draw nigh to him who is ever most near to us, let us ask for the leading of his Spirit

And may we

and the inspiration of his love. worship him so truly here, that we may be helped by our prayer to worship him in our daily work, in deeds of lovingkindness, in thoughts of gratitude, in steadfast patience and trust, in heartfelt penitence for sin, and in works of duty faithfully fulfilled.

Then shall the Minister say:

ET us draw nigh to God, the unseen and unsearchable One, ever present in our life, yet infinitely above our highest thoughts. He has breathed into us the spirit whereby we call him, Father. Let us come to him as his children, and, with trust in his love and thankfulness for all his goodness, let us worship him in spirit and in truth. Amen.

Then shall the Minister say the following Prayer, the People responding with "AMEN."

THOU, who savest them that trust in thee:

help us, for we have sinned against thee. We have sinned, but we are ashamed and do repent of our sin, and we would turn from every evil way, and with our whole heart turn to thee. Lord, be thou our helper. Change our heaviness into joy, our dreamings into earnestness, our darkness into light. Help thou our unbelief, establish our trembling hope, and fill our hearts with the strength and comfort of thy love. Amen.

BE joyful in the LORD, all ye lands; serve the LORD with gladness, and come before his presence with a song.

Be ye sure that the LORD he is God; it is he who hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

O go your way into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and speak good of his name.

For the LORD is gracious, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth from generation to generation.

GOD, from whom all holy desires, all good
