The present Rector commenced Divine service in the noble old church of this parish in August last. He is happy to report an increasing attend

ance upon his ministrations,-devout reverence and earnest responses in public worship, and a confident hope of the fulfilment of the promise, that "in due time ye shall reap if ye faint not."

With rare exceptions, the Church's order respecting Holy days, has been methodically observed; and the useful services of the Rev. John Neely, as Deacon, have afforded to the congregation in Easton the benefit of more frequent public worship on every Lord's day.

In addition to this amount, the ladies of the Parish, by their faithful exertions, have raised, during the year, about $500-which has been applied in part, to the current expenses of the Church, but chiefly, to the removal of some old standing debts of the Parish.

The Rector is happy also to report, that during the year a successful effort has been made to collect a congregation near Lappon's Cross Roads, six miles from the Parish Church, where a stone edifice, in pointed style of architecture, is now in course of erection. It is hoped to have it in readiness for consecration by the latter part of July, when regular weekly services will be celebrated in it. The congregation already gathered, will apply at the approaching Convention for leave to organize under the name and title of St. Mark's Church.
