We invite our Readers during the next month or two to make a very definite effort to increase the Circulation of "Christian Progress." Judging from letters constantly received, we believe the Magazine to be a real help in Christian Life; and if this is so, each reader ought to feel a personal responsibility in regard to getting others to take it in. There are thousands and thousands who would be glad of the help it gives, but who have never heard of the Magazine, because their friends have never pressed it upon their notice. Will EVERY READER try to make it known as widely as possible, and to obtain at least one new subscriber at once? Many could obtain more. It only needs a real and united effort to be made. Will our readers invite their friends to subscribe, quite apart from the question of joining the Union. Those who can afford it might order a copy or two extra every month, and send it to friends, with a request that they should take it in. The January Number will be ready by December 20th, and can be ordered from all booksellers. We have several copies of numbers for the present year, chiefly July, and shall be glad to send small free packets of these to any who will use them for canvassing for new subscribers. Stamps for postage should be sent at the rate of 1d. for 6; 3d. for 12. We look for the hearty co-operation of our readers, and trust that. each and all will help. HOMELY SERMONS BY THE EDITOR.-Short Homely Sermons, by the Editor, will appear, God willing, each month in "The Churchman's Penny Magazine.' Subject for January, 'FAR OFF AND MADE NIGH." (See below.) 66 CHURCHMAN'S PENNY MAGAZINE.-The Editor would be thankful if his Church of England friends would help him by becoming subscribers to this Magazine. (See Advertisement on page 4 of the cover.) They would get an excellent pennyworth of good and useful lighter reading, such as the Editor would recommend as a healthful change for leisure moments. It will contain one Serial Story, a Short Homely Sermon, Missionary Information, Natural History, Biography, Papers on Health, Narratives of Gospel Work, Household Information, Common Sense Papers, Temperance Jottings, and Children's Corner, etc. The January Number will be varied and attractive. It will be ready by December 20th; and can be ordered of all booksellers. It is published by Messrs. Partridge & Co., 9, Paternoster Row, London, E.C. They will send it with "Christian Progress" for 2/6 per annum; or with "Christian Progress" and " Living Waters for 4/-.
