VERY RARE. Lowndes erroneously asserts" The first Edition of these Proverbs is said to have been published about 1598." The Author died in that year, and his Collection was first published in 1641. This first edition of "Scottish Proverbs " is of the greatest scarcity, and the above is probably the finest copy known.
