This volume is paged LIIII-LXV as forming part of a collection of pieces made by Symphorien Champier, but is complete in itself; it is in the best preservation. The author, Robert de Balsac, Seign. d'Entragues, a favourite of Louis XI, died in 1502-3.

The engraver of these fine designs is unknown, the letters G. C. which appear in the title border, and which were referred in Nagler's Monogrammisten to Gilles Corrozet, being also the initials of Guillaume Cavellat.

VERY RARE. One of the most biting of the Huguenot books produced by the massacre of St. Bartholomew. Amongst the preliminary leaves are some verses upon Charles IX. Brunet remarks that several Bibliographers attribute the work to Nic. Bernard.
