PROSPERITY: God’s Desire for His PeopleAuthorHouse, 4 aug. 2006 - 104 sidor PROSPERITY God’s Desire for His People should dispel once and for all any notion that to be poor or poverty on earth is God's desire for Christians. The earth is the Lord’s and He filled the earth with riches. If these riches are not for His People on earth, for whom are these riches then? Scripture says that, “It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through righteousness that comes by faith.” Scripture also says that “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” The Holy Spirit in us assures us that, indeed, we, Christians, belong to Christ and, therefore, heirs to the promise, which is no less than the world! Hence, it is the Christians, the spiritual descendants of Abraham through faith in Christ Jesus, that God has vested with the dominion of the world. Such dominion, exercised with WISDOM, should lead to PROSPERITY for Christians, in particular, and for all peoples on earth (Genesis 22:18), in general. The said verses also belie the claim of the Jews, the descendants of Abraham through Isaac, or that of the Arab Muslims in the Middle East, the descendants of Abraham through Ishmael, that it is the Jews or the Arab Muslims that God has vested with the dominion of the world.
