THE FIRST BOOK of MOSES, called GENESIS.

CHAP 1. Nthe beginningGod created the heaven, and the earth. 2 And the earth was, without forms and void; and darknefs was upon the face of the deep:and theSpirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God faid,Ler there be light and there was light.

4 that it was geod: and God divided the light from the darkness.

And God faw the light,

And God called the light Day, and the darknefs he called Night: and the evening & the morning were the first day.

6 And God fald, Let there be a firmament in the midt of the waters; and let It divide the waters from the waters.

And God made the firmament; and divided the waters which were under the firmament, from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was fo

29 And God faid, Be hold,I have given you every herb bearing feed,which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding feed,to you it albe for mear.

30 And to every beaft of the earth,and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creeperh upon the earth, wherein there is life, I bave gruen every green herb for meat: and it was fo.

31 And God faw every thing that he had made, & tehold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were thefixo day

CHAP. II.

10 And Adam gave names to all carrel, and to the owl of the air,and to every beat of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

21 And the Lord GOD aufed a deep fleep to fall pon Adam, and he flept; and he tookone of his ribs, 2nd clofed up the fieh in feap thereof.

22 And the rib which the Lord GOD had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the

man.

CHAP. 111 Now theferpent was more fubtil than any bead of the field which the Lord GOD had made; and he fald unto the woman, Yea, hath God fald, Ye thal nor eat ofevery tree of the gar den?

CHAP..IV.

ANd Adam knew Eve his wife,and the conceived, and bare Cain, and fald, i have gotten a manfrom the.. LORD.
