BE it remembered, that on the first day of August,

in the thirty-fifth year of the independence of the United States of America, Catharine Weller, of the said district, hath deposited in this office the title of a book, the right whereof she claims as author and proprietor, in the words and figures following, to wit:

Teach my best reason, reason,
My best will, teach rectitude.'

In conformity to the act of the Congress of the United States, entitled, "An Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the Authors and Pro prietors of such Copies, during the times therein mentioned;" and also to an act, entitled, "An Act supplementary to an Act, entitled, An Act for the Encouragement of Learning, by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies, during the times therein men icned,' and extending the Benefits thereof to the Arts of Designing, Engraving, and Etching Historical and other Prints."

REVERY.

WITH sweetest fragrance flow'd the liquid air,

When woo'd by sober eve I sought the shade, Where lucid moon-beams, thro' the pendant boughs, Flecker'd with gloom, in motley figures play'd; Night in her loveliest robes array'd,

To Fancy's perchant still allows

Creative licence-soon through grot and glade
Her fairy phantoms rouse,

Clad as she lists, in vestments foul or fair,

And at her call the airy forms appear.

The grove thus peopling, pleas'd I stray'd afar,
Each care forgot (oh! luxury divine,
How sweet to harmonize with peace benign,
The mental powers, and earth-born views control
The reins of thought to fancy given,
She soar'd aloft from pole to pole,

Amid the starry host of heaven,
Who with unceasing order roll;

Or trac'd the path of Phoebus' flaming car,

Or sigh'd when thwart the dusk she met a falling star.
