36. CALL to remembrance, O Lord, thy tender mercies, and thy lovingkindness, which have been ever of old. O remember not the sins and offences of my youth, but according to thy mercy think thou on me, O Lord think thou on me for thy goodness. 37. HEAR my prayer, O Lord my God: let my cry come unto thee: hide not thy face from me in time of trouble: haste thee to help me. 38. BEHOLD the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world. He was despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief. Surely he hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows: He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him. EASTER. 4.2. THEN shall be brought to pass the saying that is written death is swallowed up in victory. O death where is thy sting, O grave where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 43. WHY do the nations so furiously rage together, and why do the people imagine a vain thing. The kings of the earth rise up, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against his anointed. Hallelujah! For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. I HAVE set God alway before me, for he is on my right hand, therefore I shall not fall. Wherefore my heart was glad, and my glory rejoiced, my flesh also shall rest in hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine holy one to see corruption. Thou shalt show me the path of life; in thy presence is fulness of joy, and at thy right hand there is pleasure for evermore. ASCENSION. 45. HALLELUJAH to the Father, and the Son of God. LIFT up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up ye everlasting doors, and the King of Glory shall come in. Who is the King of Glory ? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
