2. HEAR me when-I | call, O God-of my righteousness: Thou hast enlarged me when I was | in-distress; Have mercy up on me,-and | hear-my | prayer. O ye sons- -of men, How long will ye turn my [glo-ry | in-to | shame ? How long will ye-love | vanity, And seek after | leasing. | But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for him | self: The Lord will hear when I call-unto | him. Stand in awe-and | sin not: Commune with your own heart upon your be-d, and-be | still. Offer the sacrifices of | right-eousness, Who will show-usa-ny good? Lord, lift-thou | up The light of-thy | countenance-upon us. I will both lay me down in | peace-and | sleep: For thou, Lord, only | makest-me | dwell—in | safety. 3. O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all-the earth! Who hast set thy glory-above-the heavens. 1 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine | enemies, That thou mightest still the enemy | and— the avenger. When I consider thy heavens, the work of— thy fingers, The moon and the stars-which | thou hastordained. What is man, that thou art | mindful—of | him? And the son of man, that-thou | visit-est | him? For thou hast made him a little lower thanthe angels, And hast crowned | him-with | glory-and | honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of-thy | hands; Thou hast put all-things | under his | feet: All sheep-and | oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field; 1 The fowl of the air, and the | fish of-the sea, And whatsoever passeth | through-the paths of -the seas. O Lord-our Lord, How excellent is thy | name-in | all—the | earth! 4. PRESERVE | me,- O | God: For in thee-do I put-my | trust. O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art-my Lord : My goodness ex | tend-eth | not-to | thee; But to the saints that are | in-the earth, And to the excellent, in | whom-is | all-my de light. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another | god: Their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names-in | to my lips. The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance | and of my cup: 1 Thou mai-n tainest-my | lot. The lines are fallen unto me in | pleasant | places; Yea, I have-a | good-ly | heritage. I will bless the Lord, who hath | given-me | counsel: My reins also in | struct-me | in the-night | seasons. I have set the Lord | always-before me : Because he is at my right | hand,-I shall notbe moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my | glory-re | joiceth: My flesh also shall rest-in | hope. For thou wilt not leave my soul-in | hell; Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy | One-to see-corruption. Thou wilt show me the path-of | life: There are pleasures-for | ev-er | more. 5. THE Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to | lie-down | in-green | pastures: He leadeth me beside the | still | waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteous-ness | for-his | name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the | shadow-of death, I will fear-no | evil : For thou-art | with me; Thy | rod and thy | staff-they | comfort me. Thou preparest a | table-be | fore me My cu-p run-neth | over. Surely goodness-and mercy Shall follow me | all-the | days of my life: And I will dwell In the house-of the | Lord-for | ever. 6. THE heavens declare the glory-of God; And the firmament | showeth-his | han-dy | work. Day unto day utter-eth | speech, And night unto | night | show-eth | knowledge. There is no speech-nor | language, In them hath he set a tabernacle | for-the | sun, Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong | man-to | run-a race. His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the e-nds of it; And there is nothing | hid-from the | heatthere of. The law of the Lord is perfect, convertingthe soul: The testimony of the Lord is sure,-making | wise the simple. The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing -the heart: The commandment of the Lord is | pure-en | lightening the eyes: |
