Senator Cabell offered the following amendment:

Amend by adding at end of section the following:

"Provided, That said Fund Commissioners shall, and it is hereby made their duty to advertise in at least one daily newspaper in each of the cities of St. Louis and New York for thirty days, and to receive bids for the sale to the State of any of its outstanding bonds not due and payable, and said Fund Commissioners shall be authorized to purchase said bonds at the lowest price at which they may be offered, to the extent of available means at their command for such purpose;" which was read first and second times and lost.

Senator Bradley offered the following amendment:

Amend by striking out the word "Or," in line ten, and insert the words, "Provided there are no option bonds;" which was read first and second times and adopted.

On motion of Senator Lloyd, the bill, as amended, was recommitted to the Committee on Ways and Means.
