was referred Senate bill No. 100, entitled "An act to amend section 4200 of chapter 80 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri of 1879, entitled "Of billiards and other tables," beg leave to report that they have compared the same and find it to be truly engrossed, and that the printed copies thereof furnished to the Senators are correct.

Senator Edwards of St. Charles, from the Committee on Engrossed Bills, submitted the following report, which was read:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Engrossed Bills, to whom referred Senate bill No. 10, entitled "An act to amend section 1307, article 3, chapter 24, of Revised Statutes of Missouri, entitled 'Crimes and criminal procedure,'" beg leave to report that they have compared the same and find it to be truly engrossed, and that the printed copies thereof furnished to the Senators are correct.

By unanimous consent, Senator Byrns introduced Senate joint and concurrent resolution No. 10, entitled Senate "Joint and concurrent resolution, submitting to the legal voters of the State of Missouri, an amendment to the Constitution thereof concerning revenue and taxation;" which was read first time and 50 copies ordered printed.

Senator Morrison submitted the following report from the Committee on Education, which was read:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Education to whom was referred Senate bill No. 67, entitled "An act to revise and amend, chapter one hundred and fifty of the General Statutes of Missouri, 'Of schools,"" beg leave to report that they have considered the same, and recommend that it do pass with the accompanying amendments.

The bill so reported, being Senate bill No. 67, was taken up, and made the special order for next Wednesday at 11 o'clock, and 50 copies of the amendments offered by the committee ordered printed for the use of the Senate.

Senator Cottey moved that when the Senate adjourn it adjourn to meet at 10 o'clock next Monday morning. Agreed to.

Senator Dungan introduced Senate bill No. 141, entitled "An act restraining stock from running at large in this State;" which was read first time and 50 copies ordered printed.

Senator Lloyd introduced Senate bill No. 14 entitled "An act to amend the laws in relation to the sale and lease of the Agricultural College lands and the investment fund for the endowment and support of the Agricultural and Mechanical College and School of Mines and Metallurgy, being a department of the State University;" which was read first time and 50 copies ordered printed.

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Enrolled Bills have carefully examined, and find truly enrolled Senate bill No. 8, entitled "An act to secure to the State the speedy settlement and payment of all sums of money due from Elijah Gates, late Treasurer of the State of Missouri."

Senator Bradley submitted the following report from the Committee on Enrolled Bills, which was read:

MR. PRESIDENT: Your Committee on Enrolled Bills have carefully examined, and find truly enrolled Senate bill No. 9, entitled "An act to secure to the State of Missouri a priority of lien in the case of insolvent debtors to the State."

The president announced that all other business would be suspended, and directed the secretary to read at length Senate bill No. 8, entitled "An act to secure to the State the speedy settlement and payment of all sums of money due from Elijah Gates, late Treasurer of the State of Missouri," and that unless objection be made, he would sign the same, to the end that it might become a law. Said bill was then read at length by the secretary, and, no objection being made, the presiding officer, in the presence of the Senate, in open session, no other business intervening, affixed his signature thereto. Said bill was also signed by the secretary of the Senate.

Senate bill No. 9, entitled "An act to secure to the State of Missouri a priority of lien in the case of insolvent debtors to the State," was also read at length by the secretary, and signed by the president without objection, in the presence of the Senate in open session, no other business intervening; said bill was also signed by the Secretary of the Senate. Both of said bills were immediately sent to the House of Representatives for the signature of the speaker, and having been signed by the President of the Senate, and Speaker of the House of Representatives and attested by the Secretary of the Senate and Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives, they were, on the same day, presented by the Secretary to the Governor for his approval.
