On motion of Senator Heard the bill was then recommitted to Committee on Banks and Corporations.

Senator Heard was excused from service on the Committee on State Uiversity, and Senator Bryant appointed in his stead.

The Committee on State University (Senators Stephens, Walker, Cottey, Bryant and Rogers,) were granted leave of absence for one week from to-morrow.

Senator Cottey moved that when the Senate adjourn, it adjourn until 10 o'clock to-morrow morning. Agreed to.

Senator Pehle presented a petition from citizens of Franklin county, Mo., protesting against a constitutional amendment prohibiting the manufacture and sale of intoxicating liquors, which was referred to Committee on Constitutional Amendments.

Senator Edwards of Lafayette presented a petition from ministers of the gospel residing in the State of Missouri, praying for a constitutional amendment as regards marriage license, which was referred to Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence.

Senator Bland presented a petition from citizens of Clay county, Mo., praying for the enactment of such laws as will regulate the costs of transportation, which was referred to Committee on Internal Improvements.

Senator Headlee presented a petition from citizens of Phelps county, Mo., praying for the enactment of such laws as will regulate the cost of transportation, which was referred to Committee on Internal Improvements.

Senator Byrns presented two petitions from the citizens of St. Francois and Washington counties in the State of Missouri, praying sor a constitutional amendment prohibiting the manufacture and sale
