Senator Mackay called up Senate bill No. 192, and moved to reconsider the vote by which it was ordered engrossed; which was agreed to.

Senator Mackay then offered the following amendment, which was read and ordered printed:

An act, to provide for the care and keeping of the State arms, accoutrements and military property, and to appropriate money therefor. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows:

SECTION 1. For the purpose of properly caring for the State arms, accoutrements and military property, and affording protection and security therefor, each cavalry company and each battery of artillery, organized under the militia laws of the State, shall, upon the requisition of the company or battery commander, and upon the approval of the proper battalion or regimental and brigade officers and the commander-in-chief, receive, in quarterly payments the sum of three hundred dollars per annum. Each company of infantry so organized shall, in like manner and for the same purpose, receive two hundred dollars per annum: Provided, however, such organization shall receive said. sums or such proportional lesser sums as may be necessary to prevent such aggregate sum from exceeding the appropriation herinafter made.

SEC. 2. There is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the revenue fund not otherwise appropriated, the sum of ten thousand dollars for the purposes designated in the foregoing section.
