ΤΗ HIS additional pofthumous volume, would have been given to the Public long ere now, had it not been for a circumftance which the Editor confiders it neceffary to explain. When the third volume was put to press, soon after the Author's death, there were feveral circumstances in the Editor's fituation, which prevented him from making a thorough fearch into the manuscripts of the Deceased. That volume, therefore, confifts of fuch Difcourfes as he, with the affistance of a refpectable friend, could felect from a general inspection of them. But, about eighteen months ago, the Editor, in arranging fome papers, found a lift, in the Author's own hand-writing, of Sermons defigned by him for the contents of a third volume. A few of these happened to be the fame which had been fixed on in the selection referred to, and which will be found in the third volume. But there were ftill fixteen unpublished, which the Editor fuppofed would be fufficient to make a volume nearly of the fize of the former ones.
