17 And he said, Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king (for he will not fay thee nay) that he give me Abifhag the Shunammite to wife.

23 Then king Solomon fware by the LORD, faying, "God do so to me, and more alfo, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

24 Now therefore, as the LORD liveth, which hath established me, and fet me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me an house, as he promised, Adonijah fhall be put to death this day.

25 And king Solomon fent by the hand of Benaiah the fon of Jehoiada, and he fell upon him that he died.

26 And unto Abiathar the priest said the king, Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields, for thou art + worthy of death: but I will not at this time put thee to death, ? because thou bareft the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because Sam. 22. 20. thou hast been afflicted in all wherein my 2 Sam. 15.24 father was afflicted.

42 And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him, Did I not make thee to fwear by the LORD, and protested unto thee, faying, Know for a certain, that on the day thou goeft out, and walkeft abroad any whither, that thou fhalt furely die? and thou faidft unto me, The word that I have heard, is good.

43 Why then haft thou not kept the oath of

II And God faid unto him, Because thou haft asked this thing, and haft not asked for thy felf long life, neither haft asked riches for thy felf, nor haft asked the life of thine enemies, but haft asked for thy felf understanding to difcern judgment;

21 And when I rofe in the morning to give my child fuck, behold, it was dead: but when I had confidered it in the morning, behold, it was not my fon, which I did bear.

22 And the other woman faid, Nay; but the living is my fon, and the dead is thy fon: and this faid, No; but the dead is thy fon, and the living is my fon. Thus they fpake before the king.

23 Then faid the king, The one faith, This is my fon that liveth, and thy fon is the dead and the other faith, Nay; but thy fon is the dead, and my fon is the living.

26 Then fpake the woman whofe the living child was, unto the king, (for her bowels +yerned upon her fon) and the faid, O my lord, give her the living child, and in no wife flay it but the other faid, Let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it.

Ut Solomon was building his own houfe till 992. thirteen years, and he finished all Chap.9.10. his house.

2 He built also the house of the foreft of Lebanon ; the length thereof was a hundred cubits, and the breadth thereof fifty cubits, and the height thereof thirty cubits, upon four rows of cedar-pillars, with cedar-beams upon the pillars.

9 All these were of coftly ftones, according to the measures of hewed itones, fawed with faws, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and fo on the outfide toward the great court.

10 And the foundation was of coftly stones, even great ftones; ftones of ten cubits, and ftones of eight cubits.

11 And above were coftly ftones (after the measures of hewed ftones) and cedars.

12 And the great court round about, was with three rows of hewed ftones, and a row of cedar-beams, both for the inner court of the house of the LORD, and for the porch of the house.
