NEW SERIES

OF THE

FOREIGN THEOLOGICAL LIBRARY.

The FOREIGN THEOLOGICAL LIBRARY was commenced in 1846, and from that time to this Four Volumes yearly (or 136 in all) have appeared with the utmost regularity.

The Publishers trust that this long-continued publication has not been without influence for good upon Theology and Biblical Criticism in English-speaking countries; and they are grateful for the recognition of their services both by the press and by individuals whose opinion they most value.

They have decided to begin a NEW SERIES with 1880, and so give an opportunity to many to subscribe who are possibly deterred by the extent of the former Series.

With this view, Messrs. CLARK beg to announce a New and Enlarged Edition of

HAGENBACH'S HISTORY OF DOCTRINES. Translated from the last
Edition, and Edited, with large additions from various sources.
To be completed in three volumes. Vol. I. now ready.
PROFESSOR GODET'S COMMENTARY ON THE EPISTLE OF ST. PAUL
TO THE ROMANS. To be completed in two volumes.
ready.

Vol. I. now

PROFESSOR DORNER'S SYSTEM OF CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE.
BISHOP MARTENSEN'S CHRISTIAN ETHICS. (Special Ethics.)
KREIBIG'S DOCTRINE OF THE ATONEMENT ON THE FOUNDATION OF
CHRISTIAN CONSCIOUSNESS.

DR. KEIL'S HANDBOOK OF BIBLICAL ARCHÆOLOGY.

From time to time other works will be added to this list; but the Publishers are sanguine enough to believe that a Series containing the works of writers so eminent, upon the most important subjects, cannot fail to secure support.

The Binding of the Series is modernized so as to distinguish it from the former Series.

The Subscription Price will remain as formerly, 21s. annually for Four Volumes, payable in advance.

The First Issue for 1880 is

GODET'S COMMENTARY ON THE EPISTLE OF ST. PAUL TO THE ROMANS. Vol. I. HAGENBACH'S HISTORY OF DOCTRINES. Vol. I.

The Second Issue will comprise

HAGENBACH'S HISTORY OF DOCTRINES, Vol. II.; and probably GODET'S ROMANS, Vol. II.

The following Volumes formed Issue for 1879, being completing year of former Series:

Philippi's Commentary on the Romans. Vol. II.
Hagenbach's History of the Reformation. Vol. II.

Steinmeyer's History of the Passion and Resurrection of our Lord. One Volume.
Haupt's Commentary on the First Epistle of St. John. One Volume.

A Selection of 20 Volumes may be had at the Subscription Price of Five Guineas, from the works issued in former Series (previous to 1876). For details, see full Catalogue.
