to continue its labours; yea, and be enabled not only to do this, but also to extend them,-to enlarge their sphere of usefulness, so that out of the four thousand uneducated deaf and dumb of Ireland, not one may be allowed, from want of funds, to come under the teaching of those who will but cast around them the galling chain of Popish bondage, and enslave their minds to its idolatry and superstition. I shall now only add my earnest hope, that what I have here stated, may be the means of procuring some aid for Claremont. Should any of my readers have it in their power to give any assistance, I shall receive any contributions, by their being addressed to the Rev. Richard Chester, Cloyne, Co. Cork, Ireland, the donor mentioning that the sum is intended for the Juvenile Association for promoting the Education of the Deaf and Dumb Poor of Ireland. THE PSALMIST'S REVELATION OF THE

TIMES OF RESTITUTION,

WITH

PARALLEL PREDICTIONS OF THE SPIRIT.

PSALM XVIII.

"To the Giver of Victory (A Psalm) of the servant of Jehovah, the Beloved, who spake unto Jehovah the words of this song, in the day that Jehovah delivered Him from the hand of all His enemies, and from the power of hell."-Bishop Horsley.

The power and majesty of Jehovah, as to be displayed at the coming of our Lord, 7-15. The deliverance of the true David from His enemies, 34-50.

2. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my strength, in whom I trust.

7. Then the earth shook and trembled, the foundations also of the hills moved, and were shaken, because He was wroth.

PARALLEL PREDICTIONS.

And again, I will put my trust in Him. Heb. ii. 13.

The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage and the transgressions thereof shall be heavy upon it, and it shall fall, and not rise again. Isa. xxiv. 19, 20.

For thus saith the Lord of Hosts; yet once, it is a little while, and I will

8. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9-11. He bowed the heavens also and came down, and darkness was under his feet. He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

12. At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13. The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hailstones and coals of fire.

14. Yea, he sent out hisarrows and scattered them, and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15. Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land. Hag. ii. 6.

Behold the name of the Lord cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire. And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity, Isa. xxx. 27, 28.

Clouds and darkness are round about him. Psa. xcvii. 2.

And his brightness was as the light; he had bright beams out of his side. (Margin) And burning coals went forth at his feet. Hab. iii. 4, 5.

The adversaries of the Lord shall be broken in pieces: out of heaven shall he thunder upon them. Sam. ii. 10.

And the Lord shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempests, and hail-stones. Isa. xxx. 30.

I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain, and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. Deut. xxxii. 42.

He rebuketh the sea and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers. Nahum i. 4.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat

bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

35. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37. I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them: neither did I turn again till they were consumed.

38. I have wounded them that they were not able to rise: they are fallen under my feet.

39. For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against

me.

40. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

47. It is God that avengeth me, and subdueth the people unto me. He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against

me.

41. They cried, but there was none to save them; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

43. Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and

upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. Rev. xix. 11.

Behold, my servant whom I uphold. I, the Lord, have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee. Isa. xlii. 1, 6.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the wine-press of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse; and against his army. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh. Rev. xix. 15, 19, 21.

For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith, all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 1 Cor. xv. 27.

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me. Prov. i. 27, 28.

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth. They that dwell in

people whom I have not known shall serve me.

44. As soon as they hear of me they shall obey me; the strangers shall submit themselves

unto me.

45. The strangers shall fade away, and be afraid out of their close places.

48. Thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50. Great deliverance giveth he to his King; and showeth mercy to his anointed; to David, and to his seed for evermore.

PARALL EL PREDICTIONS.

the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust. Yea, all kings shall fall down before him all nations shall serve him. Psa. lxxii. 8, 9, 11.

Through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. Psa. lxvi. 3.

So shall he astonish with admiration* many nations: the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see: and that which they had not heard shall they consider. Isa. lii. 15.

They shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth. Isa. ii. 19.

They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth; they shall be afraid of the Lord our God. Mic. vii. 17.

And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes, but he shall be broken without hand. Dan. viii. 25.

The Lord shall judge the ends of the earth; and he shall give strength unto his king, and exalt the horn of his anointed. 1 Sam. ii. 10.

For the king trusteth in the Lord, and through the mercy of the Most High he shall not be moved. Psalm xxi. 7.
