Office for a Communicants' Class.

First shall be sung a Hymn. Then shall follow an Address or Meditation. Then, all devoutly kneeling, the following Prayer shall be said by Priest and people:

HEAVENLY Father, help us.

Without Thee

O we can do nothing. Without Thy help we

cannot worthily approach Thy Holy Altar. Let Thy Holy Spirit guide us, and teach us wherein we have offended in Thy sight. Give us true sorrow for past sin, and grace to amend our lives; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Form of Self-examination will then be read aloud, the heads of which are given below, and pauses will be made, during which everyone may privately and earnestly confess with sorrow the breach of God's will; or thank God who has given, by His Holy Spirit, deliverance from the temptation.
