p 15 What then? shall we sin,

3 So then, if while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adul teress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

10 And the commandment which was ordained to life, I found to be unto death.

11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

t 12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

t 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

e 15 For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that do not; but what I hate, that do I.

16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.

e 17 Now then it is no more I that
do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

CHAP. VIII.

HERE is therefore now no condemnation to themwhich are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. e 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and death. t 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: d 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Ic 5 For they that are after the flesh, do mind the things of the flesh: but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

c 19 For the good that I would, I do not; but the evil which I would not, that I do.

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

c 21 I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me.

6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace:

t* 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

t8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of right
