I HIS is the day the Lord hath made,
He calls the hours his own;
Let heav'n rejoice, let earth be glad,
And praise furround the throne.

2 To-day he rofe and left the dead,
And Satan's empire fell;

To-day the faints his triumphs fpread,
And all his wonders tell.

3 Hofanna to th' anointed King,
To David's holy Son!

Help us, O Lord; defcend and bring
Salvation from thy throne.

4 Bleft be the Lord, who comes to men
With meffages of grace;

Who comes in God his Father's name,
To fave our finful race.

5 Hofanna in the higheft ftrains

The church on earth can raise;
The highest heav'ns, in which he reigns,
Shall give him nobler praise.

The work, O Lord, is thine,
And wond'rous in our eyes ;
This day declares it all divine,
This day did Jesus rife.

This is the glorious day

That our Redeemer made;

Let us rejoice, and fing, and pray,
Let all the church be glad.

Hofanna to the King

Of David's royal blood;

Blefs him, ye faints; he comes to bring

Salvation from your God.

We blefs thy holy word,

Which all this grace difplays; And offer on thine altar, Lord, Our facrifice of praife.

O what a glorious corner-ftone The Jewish builders did refufe ; But God hath built his church thereon, In fpite of envy, and the Jews.

2 Great God the work is all divine,
The joy and wonder of our eyes;
This is the day that proves it thine,
The day that faw our Saviour rife.
3 Sinners rejoice, and faints be glad :
Hofanna, let his name be bleft;
A thoufand honours on his head,
With peace, and light, and glory reit!

4 In God's own name he comes to bring Salvation to our dying race;

Let the whole church addrefs their King
With hearts of joy, and songs of praise.

PSALM CXIX.

I bave collected and disposed the most useful verfes of this Pfalm under eighteen different heads, and formed a Divine Song on each of them. But the verfes are much tranfpofed to attain fome degree of connection.

In fome places, among the words law, commands, judgments, teftimonies, I have used gospel, word, grace, truth, promifes, &c. as more agreeable to the New Teftament, and the common language of Chrif tians, and it equally answers the defign of the Pfalm.. ift, which was to recommend the Holy Scriptures. PSALM CXIX. 1ft Part. Com. Metre. The bleedness of faints, and mifery of finners.

I LEST are th' 'undefil'd in heart, 'BLEST

Whose ways are right and clean;

Who never from thy law depart,
But fly from ev'ry fin.

2 Bleft are the men that keep thy word,
And practife thy commands;

With their whole heart they seek the Lord, And ferve thee with their hands.

3 Great is their peace who love thy law
How firm their fouls abide !
Nor can a bold temptation draw
Their fteady feet afide,

But haughty finners God will hate,
