SPEED Thy servants, Saviour, speed mp [5 When they think of home, now

them!

Thou art Lord of winds and waves: They were bound, but Thou hast freed

them;

Now they go to free the slaves:

Be Thou with Them!

'Tis Thine arm alone that saves. mp 2 Friends and home and all forsaking, Lord! they go at Thy command; As they stay Thy promise taking, While they traverse sea and land: O be with them!

dearer

Than it ever seemed before,

Bring the promised glory nearer ;
Let them see that peaceful shore,

Where Thy people

Rest from toil, and weep no more!

p 6 Where no fruit appears to cheer them, And they seem to toil in vain,

cr Then in mercy, Lord, draw near them, Then their sinking hopes sustain : Thus supported,

Let their zeal revive again!]

Let them trust, O Lord, in Thee; When success attends their mission, Let Thy servants humbler be: Never leave them,

Till Thy face in heaven they see;

f 8 There to reap, in joy for ever,

TERNAL Love, Whose law doth sway mf 3 Thy hand the sacred links have wrought.

The worlds in ordered course, And works in human hearts its way With sacred force;

mp 2 To Thee our waiting hearts we lift, This solemn, joyful hour,

And ask Thy Spirit's perfect gift,
For marriage dower.

That bind two souls in one;

Thy highest mysteries thus are taught, Thy heaven begun.

mp 4 O hallow with Thy presence now
This sacrament of love;

Breathe in the trembling human vow
Strength from above.

mp 5 Then through what scenes the unknown road
Of outward life may roam,

cr A flame that on Thine altar glowed

Shall light the home. Amen.

FATHER all-creating,

Whose wisdom and Whose power

First bound two lives together

In Eden's primal hour;

mf To-day to these Thy children
Thine earliest gift renew ;-
cr A home by Thee made blessed,
f A love by Thee kept true.

mf 2 O Saviour, Guest most bounteous
Of old in Galilee,
Vouchsafe to-day Thy presence,
With these who wait on Thee;
cr Their store of earthly gladness
Transform to heavenly wine,
dim And teach them, in the tasting,
To know the gift is Thine.

3 O Spirit of the Father,

Breathe on them from above,—
So searching in Thy pureness,
So tender in Thy love;

cr That guarded by Thy presence,
From sin and strife kept free,
mf Their lives may own Thy guidance,
Their hearts be ruled by Thee.

mf 4 Except Thou build it, Father,
The house is built in vain ;
Except Thou, Lord, sustain it,
The joy will turn to pain:
f But nought can break the union
Of hearts in Thee made one,

dim

And love, which Thou hast hallowed, In endless love begun. Amen.

3 There the sinful souls that turn
To the cross their dying eyes,

All the love of Christ shall learn
At His Feet in Paradise.

Father, in Thy gracious keeping
Leave we now Thy servant sleeping.

mf 4 There no more the powers of hell
Can prevail to mar their peace;
Christ the Lord shall guard them well;
He Who died for their release.
pp Father, in Thy gracious keeping
Leave we now Thy servant sleeping.

5 "Earth to earth, and dust to dust;"
Calmly now the words we say ;
Leaving him to sleep in trust,
Till the Resurrection-day,
Father, in Thy gracious keeping

Leave we now Thy servant sleeping. Amen.
