ALMIGHTY and most merciful Father, who hast promised to hear the petitions of them that ask in thy Son's name; vouchsafe to us an interest in the prayers of thy holy Church throughout the world, which have been this day offered to the Throne of Grace; and grant that those things which we have faithfully asked according to thy will, may effectually be obtained to the relief of our necessities and the setting forth of thy glory, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

On Communion Sundays let the following be added:

WE thank thee, O Lord God Almighty, for having admitted us to partake of thy holy, precious, and heavenly mysteries which thou hast given us for the sanctification and healing of our souls and bodies and we beseech thee to grant that this our Communion of the holy Body and Blood of thy Christ, may inspire us with faith that need not be ashamed, and with love without dissimulation; may fill us with wisdom, and heal our souls and bodies; may avert all evil from us, and enable us to perform thy commands, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The second Collect.

O ALMIGHTY God, who hast instructed thy holy Church with the heavenly doctrine of thy Evangelists and Apostles; give us grace, that, being not like children carried away with every blast of vain doctrine, we may be established in the truth of thy holy Gospel; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The third Collect, for Aid against Perils.

O GOD, the strength of all them that put their trust in thee, we beseech thee to continue thy gracious protection to us this night. Defend us from all dangers and mischiefs and from the fear of them; that we may enjoy such refreshing sleep as may fit us for the duties of the following day. Make us mindful of

the time when we shall lie down in the dust, and grant us always to live in such a state that we may never be afraid to die, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
