people, by the sending to them the light of Thy Holy Spirit; grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Monday Morning.

[FIRST WEEK.]

OST high and holy God, Thou

dost teach us in Thy Word that there is only one way of salvation, that we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and so be saved.

We thank Thee for thus making known to us how alone we poor sinners can escape the wrath to come, and we pray that Thy gracious Gospel may not be preached to us in vain. But as our Saviour died to save us from the power

of our sins, as well as from their punishment, we pray for the help of the Holy Spirit to enable us to follow the steps of our Lord's life, and to take Him as our pattern. Give us grace to

remember that our Saviour is the Great Master of each one of us, and that if we would be in His presence in glory hereafter, we must walk with God here. below. Like the Lord Jesus, may we be much in prayer, and in the study of the Scriptures; and like Him, may we be much about our Father's business, trying to do good in our short day on earth. Oh, make us like unto Christ in humility, in kindness, and in all holiness of life! And may we so confess Him

before men, that He may not be ashamed of us at the great day of the Lord. Hear us, blessed Lord God Almighty, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

ALMIGHTY GOD, who hast given Thine only Son to be unto us both a sacrifice for sin and also an ensample of godly life, give us grace that we may always most thankfully receive that His inestimable benefit, and also daily endeavour ourselves to follow the blessed steps of His most holy life, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
