ALMIGHTY GOD, we beseech Thee graciously to behold this Thy family, for which our Lord Jesus Christ was contented to be betrayed and given up into the hands of wicked men, and to suffer death upon the cross, who now liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Friday Evening.

[FIRST WEEK.]

LMIGHTY GOD, whose blessed Son did give Himself for us, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, we approach Thee, making mention of His blood and righteousness only. We rejoice that He is able to save to the uttermost all that come unto Thee by Him, and we pray Thee to teach each of us that there is only this one way of salvation, and that without a Saviour we are lost indeed. Bless abundantly Thy ministering servants,

and evermore grant them grace to preach unto us Jesus Christ, and Him crucified; so that we may learn much of Him in all His gracious offices, as our Saviour, our Prophet, our Priest, and our King. We humbly and solemnly give Thee thanks for the inestimable blessing of redemption, and pray that we may praise Thee for it in heaven to all eternity.

Give us grace, we implore Thee, to confess Christ before men, to be Christians not only in name, but in deed and in truth. Teach us to be careful in the choice of our companions, and may we receive good from them, and do them good.

Before we lie down to rest, we com

mend ourselves to Thy keeping, with humble thanksgivings for Thy perpetual care and mercy, and we pray Thee to hear us, for Christ's dear sake. Amen.

ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who of Thy tender love towards mankind hast sent Thy Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ, to take upon Him our flesh, and to suffer death upon the cross, that all mankind should follow the example of His great humility. Mercifully grant that we may both follow the example of His patience, and also be made partakers of His resurrection, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
