Ansel Nash, who had, during four Wenham, Edmund Kimball, Esq., ann. years, been employed in the service of the education cause-one year as Secretary and Agent of the Connecticut Branch, and the remaining time as General Agent of the Parent Society, resigned his office. This he was induced to do on account of the feeble state of health of Mrs. Nash. It is to be regretted, that an Agent who had been so acceptable and successful, and who had acquired the confidence of the community, should be under the necessity of West Newbury, Soc. of Rev. Mr. Eigell 5 25 leaving the service of the Society, when it was in his power to accomplish the most for the benefit of the cause. While he retires from his office, he has the sympathies and best wishes of the Directors for his prosperity and usefulness in the pastoral office, to which he has been unanimously invited by a church and society in Vernon, Connecticut.
