Q.97. What is required to the worthy receiving of the Lord's Supper?

A. It is required of them that would worthily partake of the Lord's fupper, that they examine themselves of their knowledge to difcern the Lord's body f, of their faith to feed upon himg, of their repentance b,lovei,and new obedience k; left, coming unworthi.

For the promife is unto you, and to your children, and all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God fhall call Gen xvii. 10. See in letter x. Compared with Col. ii. 11. In whom alfo ye are circumcifed with the circumcifion made without hands, in putting off the body of the fins of the flesh, by the circum. cifion of Christ: v. 12. A. Prayer is an offering up of our defires unto God, for things agreeable to his will, in the name of Chrifto, with confeffion of our fins p, and thankful acknowledgment of his mercies q.

99. What rule bath God given for our direction in prayer? A. The whole word of God is of ufe to direct us in prayer r; but the fpecial rule of directionis that form of prayerwhich Chrift taught hisdifciples, commonly called the Lord's prayers.
