written |(1) The Church of Rome cannot free themselves from the Charge of Idolatry, because it is here faid, that an Idol is nothing ; nor bem cause their images are real, and represent fomething real; for several of the Idols among the Heathens represented real Beings, as the sun, Moon, and other Creatures

. The Meaning of this Maxim is, that an Idol has no Virtue or power, nothing that it is esteemed to have by them that Worbip it. This the Apostle proves, becaule there is so God bust one.
