Thee, pity our ignorance, sanctify our souls, guide us into all truth, and comfort, with the hopes of the gospel of Christ, our sorrowing and penitent hearts.

Reader and Congregation.

O Holy, Blessed, and Glorious Trinity, whom we worship as of Three Persons, yet one God, have mercy upon us, who are grievous sinners against thy Divine Majesty, and who, apart from Thee, are poor and miserable, and blind and naked.

Reader.

COLLECT FROM THE ONE FOR TRINITY SUNDAY.

Almighty and everlasting God, who hast given unto us thy ser

vants grace by the confession of a true faith, to acknowledge Thee to be Three Persons in One God, we beseech Thee, that thou wouldest keep us stedfast in this faith, and evermore defend us from all adversities, who livest and reignest, one God, world without end.Amen.

DEPRECATIONS.
Reader.

Great are our transgressions, and those of our forefathers, yet punish us not, O Lord Jesus, as our sins deserve; neither take from us those christian ordinances and those temporal blessings, which are expedient for us, though, from our offen

Our transgressions have brought us to thy footstool in this state of humiliation, and we earnestly entreat Thee to preserve us henceforth from the commission of sin, the true source of all the evil which this world contains. Protect us from the devil, who is at one time a crafty serpent, at another, a roaring lion : grant that neither his cunning, nor his violent assaults, may cause us to offend Thee. Deliver us from thy displeasure against sin, as it is felt in this life; and above all, from that sad termination to a course of

sin, eternal damnation hereafter. For the pleasures of a moment let us not sink down into everlasting burnings! From sin and from all the mischief and sorrow which it would bring upon us,

Reader and Congregation.

Good Lord, deliver us.

Reader.

Shine, O Lord, in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the Glory of God; deliver us from all the blindness of the natural man in spiritual things, and from the additional blindness, which is contracted by a life of transgression. Sinful dust and ashes are we, O
