So Should We.

HE camel at the close of day,

Kneels down upon the sandy plain,

To have his burden lifted off,

And rest to gain.

My soul, thou, too, shouldst to thy knees
When daylight draweth to a close,
And let thy Master lift the load,

And grant repose.

Else how couldst thou to-morrow meet,
With all to-morrow's work to do,

If thou thy burden all the night

Dost carry through?

The camel kneels at break of day

To have his guide replace his load,

Then rises up anew to take

The desert road.

So thou shouldst kneel at morning's dawn,
That God may give thee daily care,

Assured that He no load too great

Will make thee bear.

Perfect Trust.

H, for the peace of a perfect trust,
My loving God, in Thee;

Unwavering faith, that never doubts
Thou choosest best for me!

Best, though my plans be all upset;
Best though my way be rough;

Best, though my earthly store be scant;
In Thee I have enough.

Best, though my health and strength be gone, Though weary days be mine,

Shut out from much that others have;

Not my will, Lord, but Thine!

And even though reverses come,
They, too, are best for me;

To wean me from this changing world,
And lead me nearer Thee.

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust
That looks away from all;

That sees Thy hand in everything,
In great events or small!

That hears Thy voice-a Father's voice-
Directing for the best,

Oh, for the peace of a perfect trust,
A heart with Thee at rest!

CHE first rule of charity is to love our neighbor as ourself. Our love for ourselves possesses two qualities; it is sincere, it is tender. To preserve the first rule indicated by Jesus Christ, our love for our neighbor must, then, possess these two qualities.

HOW near I am in Holy Communion, how closely united indeed I am, to the source of all good. I cross my hands upon my breast and know that folded there is all good.

Give us our daily Bread,

The Bread of Angels, Lord!

By us, so many times,

Broken, betrayed, adored;

His Body and His Blood;

The feast that Jesus spread,

Give Him—our Life, our All—
To be our daily Bread!

SOW a thought, you reap an act;
Sow an act, you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, you reap a character;
Sow a character, you reap a destiny.

O

Dy Lesson.

NLY to rest where He puts me,
Only to do His will;

Only to be what He made me,
Though I be nothing still.

Never a look beyond me,

Out of my little sphere;

If I could fill another,

God would not keep me here.

Only to take what He gives me,
Meek as a little child;
Questioning nought of the reason,
Joyful, or reconciled.

Only to do what He bids me
Patiently, gladly to-day;

Taking no thought for the morrow;
Leaning on Him all the way.

Only to watch in the working,

Lest I should miss His smile;

Only to still earth's voices

Listening for His the while.

Only to look to Him ever;
Only to sit at His feet;
All that He sayeth to do it-

There shall my life be complete.

CHE Lord can bring the greatest good out of the greatest evil. From the moment when we catch a glimpse of the Saviour through the light veil of men and events, our griefs still cause us to suffer, but they have lost their sting.

my God, do with me and mine as Thou willest, because I know that Thou lovest me.

HOW pleasing to the Heart of Jesus are those who visit Him often, and who love to keep Him company in the churches where He dwells in His Sacrament.

My God! my Jesus! is it Thou
O'er filling thus my heart with bliss?

Tell me art Thou within me now?
Hast Thou bestowed a boon like this?

Yea stooping from Thy Heaven above,
Thou will not dwell from us apart,

Thy dearest throne, Thou mak'st through love,
The tabernacle of our heart.
